Saw Pui Keei is a Forensic Investigator at Thistlegorm Forensic. With a Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science, Saw Pui Keei brings a fresh perspective and a strong foundation in forensic methodologies to the team.
Saw Pui Keei completed her training at the Royal Malaysian Police College in Kuala Lumpur and the Department of Chemistry in Petaling Jaya, where she participated in various practical experiences. During her Forensic Practicum, she engaged in crime scene training focused on drug-related incidents and assisted in crime scene sketching. She also underwent training in crime scene and disaster victim identification (DVI) investigations, which included evidence collection, labeling, physical evidence analysis, and chain-of-custody management. Additionally, Saw Pui Keei was involved in court testimony training as an expert witness, justifying findings based on rigorous analysis.
She further honed her skills in advanced forensic techniques, performing DNA extraction, fiber and paint analysis using FTIR, conducting color tests on unknown drug samples, and utilizing instruments for questioned document examination such as ESDA, VSC, and Raman Spectroscopy. Saw Pui Keei also demonstrated proficiency in ballistics and explosives examination, ensuring high accuracy in comparison to reference findings.
At the Fire & Rescue Academy of Malaysia in Wakaf Tapai, Terengganu, Saw Pui Keei participated in a fire investigation practicum, where she engaged in arson case investigation training, focusing on evidence excavation, collection, packaging, and labeling. She prepared detailed reports and presented the outcomes of investigations, successfully concluding the causes and origins of fire incidents.
With her dedication and commitment to forensic investigation, Saw Pui Keei is poised to contribute significantly to Thistlegorm Forensic’s mission of delivering meticulous and thorough investigations.
