G. Venodthan is the Chief Executive Officer of Thistlegorm Forensic Group, a multidisciplinary investigation consultancy offering expert investigative services for criminal and civil proceedings, insurance claims, and litigation support — consolidating critical forensic disciplines under one roof. The firm has offices in Malaysia and the United Kingdom.
Having graduated with honours from Kingston University, London, with a Bachelor of Science in Aircraft Engineering, he gained a strong foundation in engineering principles. His commitment to advancing his expertise led him to pursue a Master of Criminal Justice degree at the esteemed University of Malaya, Malaysia, further enhancing his understanding of investigative practices and criminal justice systems. Venodthan is also a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), accredited by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), and a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (CFEI), accredited by the National Association of Fire Investigators (NAFI).
In addition to his academic and professional training, Venodthan is an active member of the Selangor Shooting Association. He has completed basic firearm handling training and has participated in competitive shooting events with both the Selangor Shooting Association and Malaysian National Shooting Association, specialising in .22-calibre sidearm shooting. This exposure strengthens his practical understanding of firearms handling, behaviour, and ballistics — knowledge that frequently supports forensic casework involving weapons, gunshot trajectories, or shooting-related incidents.
With more than 11 years of experience as a Forensic Investigator and former Loss Adjuster, he has handled over 800 cases, including engineering failures, machinery breakdowns, fire investigations, motor vehicle accidents, homicide, suicide, fraud, bodily injury claims, liability cases, and catastrophic losses.
Seamlessly integrating a profound understanding of criminal justice into investigative processes, Venodthan conducts both civil and criminal investigations and frequently collaborates with subject-matter experts. As a lead investigator, he consistently demonstrates his commitment to thorough, defensible, and high-quality investigative work.
