G. Venodthan is the Chief Executive Officer of Thistlegorm Forensic, a multidisciplinary forensic consultancy providing expert investigation and support services for criminal and civil proceedings, insurance claims, and litigation matters, consolidating key forensic disciplines under one roof. The firm operates from offices in Malaysia and the United Kingdom.
He graduated with honours from Kingston University, London, with a Bachelor of Science in Aircraft Engineering, establishing a strong foundation in engineering principles and analytical thinking. He later obtained a Master of Criminal Justice from the University of Malaya, further strengthening his expertise in investigative practice and criminal justice systems. Venodthan is also a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), accredited by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), and a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (CFEI), accredited by the National Association of Fire Investigators (NAFI).
In addition to his academic and professional qualifications, Venodthan is an active member of the Selangor Shooting Association. He has completed basic firearm handling training and has participated in competitive shooting events with both the Selangor Shooting Association and the Malaysian National Shooting Association, specialising in .22-calibre sidearm shooting. This experience strengthens his practical understanding of firearms handling, behaviour, and ballistics, supporting forensic casework involving weapons, gunshot trajectory analysis, and shooting-related incidents.
With more than 11 years of experience as a Forensic Investigator and former Loss Adjuster, he has handled over 800 cases involving engineering failures, machinery breakdowns, fire investigations, motor vehicle accidents, homicide, suicide, fraud, bodily injury claims, liability matters, and catastrophic losses.
Drawing on his background in engineering, criminal justice, and forensic investigation, Venodthan conducts both civil and criminal investigations and frequently collaborates with subject-matter experts across multiple disciplines. As a lead investigator, he is committed to delivering thorough, defensible, and high-quality forensic investigations.
